On the far western outskirts of Sydney nestled at the foothills of the Blue Mountain lies Penrith and the western suburbs. Here where themajestic Nepean River flows through the Nepean Gorge, (unbeknownst to most Sydneysiders) is one of the great sights of Sydney.
Penrith is located just 55kms from central Sydney and is saturated with unspoiled bushland, national parks and landmarks of European colonisation. The eastern escarpment of the spectacular Blue Mountains plateau begins less than 5kms west of Penrith and extends over a quarter of a million hectares of native bushland. Penrith attractions also include (alongside some fantastic restaurants and cafes), the the biggest licensed club in Australia, `Panthers`. Thoughif you've come here to relax, it is recommended that you travelsouth, here you will find Wallacia with Hopewood Health Centre, the largest and longest establishedhealth retreat in New South Wales.
