Nightcliff, Coconut Grove, Millner, Jingili
Although the northern suburbs of Darwin are essentially residential, there are a number of beautiful parklands and reserves along the waters of Beagle Gulf and Rapid Creek. The Casurina Coastal Reserve landscape is particularly stunning, with long white beaches backing onto broad sand dunes, mangrove thickets, and small patches of coastal rainforest.
The suburbs of Nightcliff and Rapid Creek are seemingly overflowing with artistic talent, both holding markets every Sunday. Travelling east and on the outer limits of Darwin's Airport, the suburb of Marrara is home to an enormous sporting complex. With fields for every major ball sport as well as indoor stadium and athletics track, many of the Territory's major tournaments are held here.
